Michael S. Lawley, CPA, CVA, CFP® - President
Michael S. Lawley is the founder and president of Lawley and Associates. He established the firm after working at one of the largest international accounting firms and working as a government auditor, in addition to holding a corporate accounting role. A Certified Public Accountant, Michael has dedicated his 30-year plus career to the accounting profession and to helping his clients achieve their goals.
Michael is highly experienced in tax law and tax planning and return preparation for individuals, corporations, LLCs, partnerships, estates, and trusts. He also has many years of experience in providing IRS representation, business planning and development services, litigation support, and accounting services. In addition, Michael is a former adjunct professor at Rollins College where he taught managerial cost accounting, financial accounting, and partnership taxation.
One of a select group of CPAs in the USA who have graduated from a law school graduate tax program, Michael earned his Master of Taxation degree from the University of Denver, College of Law, and Daniels College of Business. He also has a Master of Science degree in Accountancy from the University of Central Florida. Michael attended Florida Technological University for his undergraduate studies, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. A believer in life long learning, Michael recently earned his Juris Doctorate degree in 2022 from Barry University, Dwayne O. Andres School of Law.
Michael belongs to several professional associations including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. He is also a certified financial planner and is a life member of the American Mensa Society and Mensa Worldwide.
When he’s not assisting clients, Michael practices yoga and enjoys traveling, hiking, camping, reading, and exercising.
